Dean Hill

As Principal of Igloo's Calgary office, Dean brings over 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business leadership, specializing in helping clients optimize performance and growth.

Dean has served as CFO of a publicly traded natural gas exploration and production company, where he managed financial planning, reporting, and risk management functions, as well as the negotiation of multiple financing and joint venture deals. He later successfully led a private safety and emergency management company as CEO. During his tenure, Dean oversaw the expansion of the company's portfolio, the acquisition of several strategic partners, and the improvement of financial and operational efficiency.

Dean has extensive skills and knowledge in the energy, equipment, and financial services sectors, mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis, and strategic planning. He is passionate about helping businesses achieve their goals and create value for their stakeholders by providing them with innovative and effective solutions and guidance, ultimately delivering excellence and quality improvement in financial and operational efficiency. Dean is committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture with management teams and across the organization, where diverse perspectives and experiences are valued and respected.

Dean grew up in Saskatchewan and Edmonton, worked abroad in the UK and the Cayman Islands, and has lived in Calgary with his family since 2007 where you can find him camping, skiing, or playing racquet sports.

Dean attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and holds a CPA, CA designation.
